Christopher M. Treanor
President
Chris Treanor is the President of Preferred Concepts, overseeing all operations, client service, and development and implementation of growth strategies. Chris came to Preferred in 2010 when the company acquired Mercator Risk Services, Inc. a national wholesale brokerage firm which Chris co-founded in 2006 along with Michael Ryan and J.C. Sparling. Mercator redefined the wholesale industry with its unique business model that stressed collaborative brokerage operations. Chris orchestrated the growth of Mercator from a start-up operation to a successful national wholesale firm.
Prior to founding Mercator, Chris served a twenty year tenure at Marsh, where he served as Chief Executive Officer of global placement operations. Chris was a member of the Marsh Board of Directors and the company’s Management Committee and held various management roles in brokerage, sales and office management. Chris received an AB in Economics and History magna cum laude from Duke University in 1985 and received his MBA from Columbia University in 1991. He is a Trustee of Freedom House Inc, a substance abuse halfway house, as well as a Trustee and Vice Chairman of Centenary College, a private college in New Jersey.
