Jay Sheehan is Senior Vice President of Preferred Advantage where he leads the Professional Liability brokerage team.  With both a legal and insurance background, Jay offers Preferred clients expertise in  Executive and Professional Liability solutions for financial institutions, asset managers, architects and engineers, investment advisors  and insurance firms as well as Cyber, Privacy and Technology Liability, Crime and Transactional Risk.

Jay’s fourteen years of experience began as a Commercial Casualty broker  in the Stamford office of Marsh & McLennan.  After earning his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac  Law School, Jay moved to Marsh New York as a broker in the Private Equity Mergers and Acquisitions group, where he focused on a variety of risk solutions for private equity firms (including their portfolio companies), and asset managers.  In 2005, Jay left Marsh to lead the Executive Liability Department of S.H. Smith & Company and was subsequently appointed Senior Vice President of the Professional & Management Liability Department.  He also spearheaded the Transactional Risk Practice Group.  Most recently, Jay was a Senior Vice President at R-T Specialty where he developed the Transactional Risk Practice  and was a senior broker in the Professional Liability Department.

Jay holds Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Providence College and is an admitted member of the Massachusetts Bar.
