As Chief Operating Officer, Michael manages the company’s general operations, and provides leadership in the development and implementation of the company’s overall strategy.  Prior to joining Preferred Concepts, Michael was a co-founder of Mercator Risk Services, Inc., a national wholesale brokerage firm.  The firm was acquired by Preferred in 2010.

At Mercator, Michael served as Chief Operations Officer.  Prior to that, Michael held executive positions at BenefitPort, where he was responsible for all subsidiary operations and financial and capital markets functions.  Michael also served as Senior Vice President of MBL Life Assurance Corporation, where his accomplishments included the successful restructuring and disposition of the company’s multi-billion dollar real estate portfolio and the sale of the company’s $6 billion insurance business, bringing a favorable conclusion to the company’s turnaround.

Michael received an AB with honors from Brown University in 1984.
