David Palchik • Vice President
A strategic thinker with broad insurance experience, David brings a well-honed skillset to Preferred’s customers including underwriting and risk management as well as business development and improved efficiencies in agency management systems.
David joined Preferred Concepts in 2012. He began his career as a casualty underwriter with the Hartford Insurance Group in 1979 and held positions of increasing underwriting authority there and at Crum & Foster. Following his tenure with Kemper, David moved to Royal Sun & Alliance, where he was an Underwriting Vice President and managed the transition of a $60 Million book of business to a regional underwriting center, building an underwriting team to ultimately service the book. He was later asked to assume a Lead Underwriting Operations role reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer. While there, David held ultimate responsibility for all underwriting audits, authority guidelines, training activities, facultative reinsurance placement and tracking for the entire U.S.
Most recently, David was Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for Adams Office, LLC, a multinational conglomerate, where he provided global risk management oversight among all entities, achieving economies of scale for insurance purchase and instituting alternative risk mitigation activities.
David holds a BS in Management from Clarkson University. He is an active Board Member on the Connecticut Business Group on Health and serves on the legislative subcommittee. He has also assisted a start-up technology company, helping to create business plans, pro-forma financial plans and attack investors.
