With his brokerage skills well honed, Shawn moved to Mercator Risk Services in 2006 to be part of the collaborative culture. While there, as part of the casualty division, he headed the transportation brokerage division, contributing to more than $80 million in gross written premiums that first year. Continuing with his transportation specialty success, Shawn moved to Marquis Agency, where he again organized a transportation insurance practice within their retail operation.
Shawn then concentrated again on program underwriting by joining S.H. Smith & Company in 2009 as Vice President. Shawn was responsible for the Programs Department and also, helped in opening the firm’s first office in New Jersey.
Most recently, Shawn has served as an independent consultant with his own wholesale and retail insurance practices, specializing in complex industry segments including real estate/hospitality, transportation, construction, energy and high-net worth individuals. Additionally, he acted as a sales consultant for an international business services firm, Vantage Agora, helping them gain market share in the northeast.
